Ralph Dixon, Founder

Ralph can hardly remember not being in the jeweller business, starting his career with Skelton Jewellers in Montreal in the 40s . He cut his teeth hand-making custom designs for Montreal society and several of his firm’s famous clients like Princess Margaret and President Eisenhower. To further his career, he eventually struck out on his own.

His ideals truly are the cornerstone of Dixon Jewellers. In the competitive Montreal business environment in the 50s and 60s Ralph distinguished himself by producing amazing jewellery at excellent prices using innovative techniques, gaining a reputation for service quality and principals. He enjoys golf, woodworking, and painting, but still likes keep his hand in at the factory a few days per week, and his staff can draw on his vast experience even now.

Matt Dixon, President, B.A. FCGmA, CAP-CJA

Matt grew up in the family business, helping out as a child and for summer employment. After years learning the trade as a bench jeweller, Matt went on to gemmology, design and eventually the business side, gradually taking over the day to day operations in the mid 80s. He eventually expanded the retail side of the business, but believes in controlling quality and price by maintaining a full service factory literally right behind the scenes. In his spare time he enjoys time with his family, swimming, and martial arts.
